Juicing Superfoods Part 2: Seaweed

Superfoods can help assist in increasing energy, quality of sleep, and metabolism. Seaweeds are a superfood known to contain 10 times more calcium than a glass of milk. Seaweeds are proven to alkalizing blood, protecting from toxic environmental hazards, regulate blood flow and purifying blood by removing toxins.
Juicing seaweeds results in a highly concentrated concoction of vitamins and minerals, that can also assist in weight loss. When you think of seaweeds, you may think of soggy, dark sandy grass, but there are many different seaweeds that are perfect for juicing and will ensure proper nutrition.
Some great seaweeds for juicing recipes include:
Kelp- Kelp is what you will find on the shores of any sandy beach. Typically sold in a capsule form, it can be added to any juice, or can be juiced in its natural state with other fruits and vegetables
Arame- is a dark-brown seaweed, with high levels of calcium, that is found in the shape of strings. Sold in a dehydrated form, arame should be soaked for a few minutes to hydrate, then can be juiced with your favorite fruits.
Wakame is a common, sweet-tasting seaweed that also needs to be soaked for 5 minutes before juicing. Wakame is also perfect as a side salad for any of your favorite juicing recipes.
Seaweed Juice
2 cups wakame
4 carrots
2 granny smith apples
1 small potato, washed
Slowly alternate between the ingredients and feed through your juicer. Serve chilled or over ice.
