Homemade Juice For Toddlers

Posted February 15th, 2012

Best Juicers for Juicing for ToddlersToddlers are known for being finicky and picky regarding new foods and activities. One area of nutrition that is not a battle is juice. Any and every toddler loves juice. Unfortunately, most store-bought juices are either composed of cups of sugar, or artificial sweeteners. Replacing these sugary drinks with at-home juicing recipes made with your juicer can ensure that your child gets the same nutritional benefits that adults receive from a juicing diet.

Although they may be picky, there are some flavors that all kids love. Handing your child a glass of carrot-celery juice will probably not end well, but including flavors such as pears, apples, mangos, avocados, and tomatoes will likely end in a victory for the parent, and a healthy body for the child. Diluting juice is suggested for a more gentle effect on a small child’s tummy.

Juicing is a family affair, and using your juicer to create juicing habits for yourself is a perfect way to entice your children. Younger children love to play “grown-up” and if they see you using your juice extractor and loving the final product, they are likely to mimic your behavior. Involve them in the selection of fruits and veggies for juicing.

Safety first! Always teach your child to keep their hands, clothing, and hair away from moving parts. A juicer is a safe appliance when used correctly. Be sure to teach children safety with all kitchen appliances.

Recipe
2 apples
2 pears
1 tomato
1 cup water

Using your juicer, alternate between the three fruits. Slowly pour the water through your juicer spout to dilute your child’s juice.
