Juicing with Young Kids
Posted February 20th, 2012
As your children get older, their likes and dislikes of foods will change dramatically. What your little one wouldn’t touch, he may now be asking for every minute. Children cannot live on a juicing diet consisting of only sweet fruits, but can certainly receive their vital nutrients from a supplemental juicing diet.
Children this age don’t tire of repetition. The variety you may think they want in their life is untrue. Once they find a juicing recipe they love, they will want it round-the-clock for the next few months. One option for juicing is to serve your kids everything you consume from your juice extractor. The only difference you may want to consider is diluting the juice slightly. This will not only help ease new flavors in, but will also be gentler on their stomachs until they get accustomed to a juicing diet. (more…)

Posted February 3rd, 2012
February is a month that seems to be centered around hearts, chocolates, flowers and everything love. February is also designated as the national star fruit and exotic vegetables month by the Center for Disease Control. Some of these exotic vegetables cannot be juiced or yield too little results for them to be efficient for juicing ingredients. Focusing on the “exotic” aspect of these fruits and vegetables can still be beneficial and help bring variety to your juicing diet. Broaden your juicing horizons and try to branch out this month and try at least one fruit and vegetable in your juicer a week.

Juicing is thought to be one of the healthiest, if not THE healthiest, and most natural ways to receive all of your necessary vitamins and minerals. Those who are new to juicing may wonder if the effort is worth the outcome. Aren’t store bought juices the same as what you get from your juice extractor? 100 percent juice is all juice, isn’t it?
Lets take apple juice for example. Store bought apple juice, although it may claim to be 100% juice, it will likely contain additives and preservatives to maintain flavor and color during the months it sits on a grocery store shelf. Cups of sugar are added for sweetness as well as food coloring for aesthetic reasons. Check out the low sugar label and you will find one added ingredient to make that juice “low sugar”: water.
